Protect Horses' Eyes


In the howling wind (especially!), if there is no shade for a horse, if the insects are prolific - use that fly mask! Anytime you might put on sunglasses, sit in the shade, cover your face, wear goggles or use insect repellent (of an herbal, natural source we hope, to avoid toxins) - put the fly mask on your horse. His eyes are too precious to take chances... and NEVER let an animal watch someone who is welding!!

Life, the Universe and most things

The Buddha said that our lives could "roll" out in front of us like a path of adventure and interest or our lives could be as a heavy cart of burdens that we pull and drag behind us... it is like the Shambala view of the setting sun world where we exist in a cocoon of our own making in which we hide and despair or the Great Eastern Sun view of a world full of magic and adventure and, even though it hurts to be tender, gentle and aware - we grow and thrive from there. I created my cocoon to hide from some pretty stressful stuff and now I see clearly what I've done and I'm on my way back to world of Light.

Sleep


Horses require REM (rapid eye movement) sleep and can only get it when able to lie down for at least two hours each day. They can doze standing up, which is restful, but that deep, replenishing REM time is necessary for their emotional and mental bodies' rejuvination.

Relax


Be with the people who treat you right. Ignore the ones who don't. Remember, those who abandon their dreams will discourage yours! A friend just reminded me of this. We are all different (thank goodness!) and sometimes we add to each others' lives and sometimes we detract. It's okay. Just stay true to your own spirit and life will unfold the way it's intended. Love is always the key!
